چکیده

aw = -23.715 f 0.015 FM r = 2.73 h 0.03 FM w Unless strong theoretical arguments can be advanced that all chargedependent corrections to the parameters can be calculated accurately enough to prove that the values of arm, r,,, or r must be moved w outside these limits, or strong experimental reasons given to believe that experiments leading to these results were significantly in error, it is argued that new calculations or experiments aimed at changing these values are likely to fail. This argument is supported by an analysis of the latest p-p experiments of Jarmie, Jett, Detch and Hutson at 9.918 MeV, which reconfirm the one-pion-exchange shape effect and give G2 TOP = 15.3 * 2.4 for the pion-nucleon coupling constant.

Information obtained from nucleus as a bound system of nucleons and from nucleon-nucleon scattering experiments is a strong tool for studying various aspects of nuclear forces. Deuteron-deuteron scattering as a four-nucleon system can provide useful information. So, scattering experiment of a polarized beam of deuteron with kinetic energy of65 MeV/nucleon from a liquid-deuterium target was done...

SLAC PUB 404 April 1968 DIFFERENCE OF NUCLEON AND PION ELECTROMAGNETIC RADII*

The nucleon isovector Pauli radius, < R 2 2v >, is calculated using sidewise dispersion relations to be significantly larger than the predictions of p d.ominance, in accord with observation. It is also predicted that < Riv> is significantly larger than the pion charge radius, < R,” > . Elastic scattering of pions from electrons at very high energies (viz. Serpukhov) will give a clear confrontat...

Comment on "Nucleon-nucleon scattering lengths in QCD sum rules"

In a recent Letter [1], Kondo and Morimatsu present a QCD sum rule calculation of nucleon-nucleon scattering lengths. They also relate the empirical scattering lengths to the nucleon mass shift δM in nuclear matter to cast doubt on the " linear density approximation. " In this Comment, we point out flaws in both parts of their analysis. It is useful to start with the (nonrelativistic) optical p...

We estimate the contribution of inelastic nucleon excitations to the (e, e ′) inclusive cross section in the CEBAF kinematic range. Calculations are based upon parameter-izations of the nucleon structure functions measured at SLAC. Nuclear binding effects are included in a vector-scalar field theory, and are assumed have a minimal effect on the nucleon excitation spectrum. We find that for q < ...
